• Joe Street - Street Toyota

I'm pleased to write a recommendation. In the summer of 2001 we contracted PSB to add five new service bays to our service department. We are very please with the results and with the length of time it took to do the project. We would definitely recommend them and will be considering them again for any future projects.

  • John Reid - Stanfield Printing Co.

The price was the lowest I received, probably because PSB listened to what I wanted more than other companies. When something wasn't what I expected (and I'm picky), all I did was mention it and it was fixed to my expectation. When we need another building our first call will be PSB. When we overpaid for the project, the gladly wrote us a check of reimbursement.

  • Darryl Baldwin - Panhandle Tire

I'm happy to recommend Panhandle Steel Buildings, Inc. I employed Panhandle Steel Buildings, Inc. to build a new building for my company. I found them to be courteous, prompt, and knowledgeable. The work was done professionally, promptley and at a reasonable price. I wouldn't hesitate to use PSB again.

  • Franklin McCasland - Mountain Road Truck Wash

They erected our 75' X 100' building in 2001 and we are very pleased with the professional job that PSB has done on our building. I would definately recommend PSB to anyone wanting a great looking building. They care about the job that they are doing for you! The follow and service after the job was complete was excellent.

How Snow And Ice Affect Steel Buildings

The amount and frequency of our snow falls in Amarillo and in the rest of the Texas Panhandle is hit or miss. Some years, it snows all the way from Thanksgiving until March and other years, we don’t even get a light sprinkling until January. Sometimes we suffer from extreme ice storms and other times, we get blizzards with up to 20 inches of snow in a day. Anyone remember the blizzard of February 2013?

Construction Delivery Methods: Design-Build

The idea that one entity could be responsible for the entire process of constructing a building has been around for thousands of years. According to Paul Tyler of Haskell Construction in Jacksonville, Florida, the concept of design-build construction firms began when master builders in ancient times would complete and oversee a project all of the way from start to finish. He added that the Parthenon, the pyramids of Egypt, and the Brooklyn Bridge were all the result of design-build construction.

What Do You Need In A General Contractor?

In Amarillo and in all of West Texas, general contractors may seem like a dime a dozen. Around every corner and on every street, it seems like there is a general contractor. You may have already began your search for a general contractor for your commercial construction or remodeling job and you may be feeling disheartened. No construction firm has yet to wow you and blow you away. They either have the credentials, yet are lacking experience, or they look good on paper, yet act unprofessionally. You are thinking about choosing one just to get the construction project underway.

How To Make A Steel Building More Energy Efficient

Steel buildings are, by nature, an energy efficient and environmentally friendly building material. This makes steel a popular choice for business owners who are looking to save every last dollar and boost the bottom line. Choosing steel from the beginning has the potential to save thousands of dollars each year on energy costs, especially if you make the right decisions when erecting the building. However, there are still ways to make a steel building more energy efficient long after the building has been created.

When Your General Contractor Tells You No

Sometimes when you are working with a general contractor, there might come a day when he or she has to tell you no. It can happen. And it might sting a little. But you shouldn’t take it personally. If Panhandle Steel Buildings is lucky enough to be your contractor, just know that our number one priority is to build long-lasting, safe, beautiful structures that our clients love and if we have to tell you no to achieve that outcome, we will.

Tips For Getting An Accurate Estimate From A General Contractor

So this is your first time hiring a general contractor and you are feeling a bit lost. You don’t know what to look for in a general contractor, you don’t know what questions to ask, you don’t know what makes them qualified, and you don’t know how much you should have to pay them when it’s all said and done. It can feel overwhelming and confusing.

How Technology Has Changed Commercial Construction

Throughout history, it’s easy to see that the way we live our daily life and do our jobs is always evolving. From the Industrial Revolution of the early 1800s to the Technological Revolution of the past 40 years, we can clearly see that the world has changed. Most everyone does their job a little bit differently than they would have even a decade ago. This includes the commercial construction industry.

Will A Metal Building Stand Up Against A Texas Tornado

A couple of weeks ago, multiple tornados ripped through the Texas Panhandle. One of those tornadoes was a mile-wide and it narrowly missed the town of Pampa, Texas. It did however sweep away the Haliburton Plant, an oil refinery outside of Pampa, causing massive chemical leaks. The plant was completely leveled due to the tornado, according to the Washington Post. What is especially surprising about these tornados is that they came in November and not in the usual tornado season.
